University information | The University of the Philippines is a national university representing the Republic of the Philippines.There are eight independent university systems throughout the country, each called the University of the Philippines XX (regional name). The University of the Philippines Cebu was founded in 1918 by the Junior College of Liberal Arts in Cebu City. In 2016, it was promoted to a comprehensive university and became the University of the Philippines Cebu.About 1,200 students.It consists of four departments: the Faculty of Communication Art & Design, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Sociology, and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
