Kobe Yamate Gakuen Educational Corporation merged with Hamana Gakuin Educational Corporation in April 2020 to become Hamana Yamate Gakuin Educational Corporation. Yamate Gakushuin (the predecessor of Kobe Yamate Gakuen) was founded in 2 at the foot of Mt. Suwa in Kobe. At that time, the number of girls' schools was so small that the reality was that many girls, with a strong desire to learn, gave up on going on to higher education and graduated from elementary school.There was a person who strongly felt the pain of this reality.At that time, he was Seizo Sugino, who was the principal of Kobe Municipal Yamate Elementary School. "I want to somehow nurture their precious love of learning. Isn't it possible to establish a girls' school in this area?"
