Completion Certification Policy (Diploma Policy)
The Department of Human Behavior (hereafter referred to as "this major") is required to study for a specified period of time and meet the completion requirements stipulated in the course. Master's Degree (Human Behavioral Studies) will be awarded to those who have completed the course and acquired the practical skills to be active in business as a professional.

Curriculum Organization and Implementation Policy (Curriculum Policy)
In order to acquire the research ability and specialized skills listed in the "Diploma Policy", the Department implements classes that incorporate the following educational content and educational methods, and conducts educational evaluations. increase.
1. Education content
- There are three groups of subjects: "Foundation Subjects" which provide students with basic knowledge and skills related to human behavior, such as psychology, sociology, and criminal science; "Core Subjects" which allow students to further specialize in their major field and learn how to formulate problems and methodologies that form the basis of practical research; and "Advanced Subjects" which allow students to conduct on-site research, fieldwork, and practical experience in their major field.
- The Clinical Psychology course systematically arranges the subjects necessary to obtain the qualifications to take the Certified Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist exams.
- In the first year, students will engage in learning and research that will focus on solidifying their core expertise and methodological foundations.
- In their first year, students take a "Human Behavior Seminar" course, during which they conduct a literature survey of previous research in the first half of the course. In the second half, they decide on a research topic and create a research plan.
- In their second year, students take Master's Thesis Guidance, where they follow a research plan and use objective methods used in behavioral science, such as experiments, surveys, observations, and interviews, to collect and analyze reliable data. They then compare this data with previous research and add empirical considerations to prepare their master's thesis.
- The subjects required for the qualification of a professional social researcher are systematically arranged.
2. Teaching method
- In "basic subjects" and "core subjects," students learn through presentations and discussions.
- Students will study practical issues using a practical research method (action research), which involves repeated practice and reflection, with the aim of combining theory and practice.
- When writing a master's thesis, students will receive guidance from their supervisor in accordance with their research plan, and will also receive advice from other faculty members at three interim presentation meetings held in the second half of their first year, in June of their second year, and in October of their second year.
- All research involving human subjects conducted in this department is submitted to and reviewed by the Kansai University of International Studies Research Ethics Committee, and only after approval is the research carried out and a dissertation written.
3. Educational evaluation
- Specialized knowledge and skills are evaluated for each subject, and also by faculty members other than the supervising professor through an oral examination in the final exam.
- Master's theses will undergo formative evaluation by faculty members other than the supervisor at three interim presentation sessions.
- After the thesis presentation, master's theses will be reviewed and evaluated by one faculty member (main examiner) and two faculty members (sub-examiners) using an evaluation rubric based on five criteria: (1) significance of the topic, (2) validity of the method, (5) analysis and utilization of data, (XNUMX) logical structure, and (XNUMX) usefulness, as well as an oral examination.
- The president will award a degree to those who have been certified as having completed the course.
