Kansai International University method aims to help you pass the double exams of nurse, public health nurse, and midwife.
We have also established programs to respond to the globalization of the medical field.

With the rapid aging of society and the sudden changes in people's lives brought about by an unknown virus, we need nurses who have the knowledge, skills, and compassion to respond to people's anxieties. In addition to obtaining national qualifications as a nurse, public health nurse, or midwife, our university trains nurses who can work in a wide range of fields through its Global Nursing major.

In addition to providing practical training in the latest facilities, we also invite doctors, nurses, and various other medical professionals from the center to give lectures and seminars, creating an environment for hands-on learning in which students can acquire knowledge and skills suited to the medical field. Our university also has a scholarship program called the "Kansai International University Kita-Harima General Medical Center Scholarship."

Nurturing medical professionals who can play an active role on the world stage
Establishment of the "Global Nursing Major"

In today's Japanese society, where the number of foreign tourists and immigrants is increasing, we are entering an era in which nurses are also required to have English language proficiency and an understanding of diversity. In response to these needs, the Global Nursing Major aims to train nurses who can play an active role in a "global society" by improving language proficiency and the ability to understand and respond to foreign cultures.

Help as many patients as possible
I want to work as a flight nurse

Erika MogiSan

Graduated from Kyoto Soto Onishi High School

The Great East Japan Earthquake occurred when I was an elementary school student living in Shanghai, China. Every time I saw the news, I felt frustrated that I couldn't do anything, and I thought, "I want to be the one who can rush to the aid of those in need," which is what led me to aspire to become a nurse. As globalization progresses, I wanted to thoroughly learn about diverse nursing and cultures, and I found this university to have a rich curriculum that includes overseas internships, internships for foreigners living in Japan, and disaster prevention qualifications. I was also very attracted by the polite and kind attitude of the seniors at the open campus, which was what made me decide to enroll.
In February of my first year, I passed the disaster prevention specialist qualification exam. I believe this will be useful in the medical field in Japan, a country prone to disasters. My overseas internship was conducted remotely due to the COVID-1 pandemic, but all interactions with local residents and preparation of presentation materials were conducted in English, which also improved my language skills. Through lectures by professors from Taiwanese universities and exchanges of opinions with nursing students, I learned about medical systems and welfare both in Japan and overseas, and gained an international perspective in the medical field. Furthermore, working as a member of the open campus staff, which was the deciding factor in my enrollment, allowed me to build relationships with both seniors and juniors. After becoming a leader, I developed leadership skills, observational abilities toward other staff, and a broad perspective. I believe this experience will be useful in the workplace, where I treat a variety of patients.
My first goal is to pass the national exam and build my career as a nurse, and then in the future, become a flight nurse. I want to be a global talent who can rush to the scene and provide care to patients in need, regardless of their nationality, as quickly as possible.

I work in a department called the "CHCU," a high-care unit specializing in cardiovascular care. We have patients who have recovered from the hyper-acute phase of the ICU but are at risk of sudden deterioration, as well as patients undergoing rehabilitation in preparation for admission to general wards. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see patients recovering, such as those who were unconscious becoming able to talk, or those who were hospitalized in pain and are now walking in the general ward. Sometimes patients remember me and say, "Thank you for all your hard work." These are the moments when I think, "I'm glad I'm a nurse." I would like to continue gaining experience and work as a member of a disaster medical team in the future.
Everyone at Kansai International University is nice, and it's great to be able to get along with seniors, juniors, and teachers. My seniors taught me a lot of things, such as how to study and how to get through practical training. The teachers were also easy to ask questions to, and they were all very kind, which was reassuring.
