1. Graduation Accreditation and Degree Conferment Policy (Diploma Policy)

In the Department of Psychology (hereinafter referred to as the "Department"), students who have completed the course of the University, have earned 126 credits and fulfilled the compulsory requirements, will be educated from a global perspective and have specialized knowledge and skills related to psychology, and A bachelor's degree (behavioral science) will be conferred on individuals who have the ability to make a broad contribution to society by making comprehensive use of the following six strengths and qualities.

2.Curriculum Policy (Curriculum Policy)

In order to enable students to acquire the knowledge and skills set forth in the Diploma Policy, the Department systematically organizes the four-year educational content, devises educational methods, and assesses the achievement status. We will evaluate it.

1) Education content

The curriculum of this department consists of basic education subjects and specialized education subjects, classified according to subject content, and organized so that students can learn step by step from basic to applied.
In order to clarify the gradual organization of courses, all courses are numbered with symbols and numbers that express the content and degree of difficulty, and the curriculum system and the priority of courses are clearly indicated.
The contents of basic education subjects and specialized education subjects are as follows.

(1) Basic education subjects

In basic education courses, students acquire the education and skills that form the foundation for leading a fulfilling and active life.
Fundamental education subjects are organized mainly for lower grades, and learn the following contents.

  • You will learn the knowledge necessary for studying at university, such as how to write reports and think critically.
  • Students will think about the issues they face in their lives on the themes of human beings, society, and science, and acquire an education.
  • Acquire the language, ICT (Information and Communication Technology), and sports skills necessary for a global society.

(2) Specialized Education Subjects

In specialized education subjects, we use various theories and knowledge of psychology to understand the formation of mind and behavior, common mind and behavior tendencies, and differences due to individual characteristics. Discover social issues and collaborate with others to solve and alleviate them.

  • Beginning in the first year, students will learn the basic knowledge and methods of psychology.
  • Participate in service learning to gain awareness and deepen understanding of issues facing oneself, others, and society.
  • At the end of the first year, students decide on a major based on their own wishes and aptitudes.

This department has the following four majors.

1) Criminal Psychology Major
You will learn about the psychology of criminals and juvenile delinquents, perspectives for clarifying cases, deterrence of recidivism, and crime prevention.
2) Clinical Psychology Major
You will learn about people with various mental problems and how to interact smoothly in daily human relationships.
3) Department of Disaster Psychology
You will learn how to help victims of natural disasters, accidents and other man-made disasters, and how to understand people's minds and actions that are useful for disaster prevention and mitigation.
4) Department of Industrial and Consumer Psychology
Students learn psychology that can be put into practice in various business situations such as product planning, development, and advertising design, as well as social activities and other everyday situations.

  • From the second year onwards, the courses to be taken are determined for each major.By taking courses in your major, you will systematically learn courses that will help you achieve your goals.
  • From the second year onwards, students participate in service learning and global studies to deepen their awareness and understanding of real-world issues.
  • From the second year onwards, students integrate classroom learning with field experience.

2) Teaching methods

Incorporating the perspective of active learning, we practice educational methods that enable students to learn actively.The main techniques are:

(3) Evaluation feedback will be provided during and at the end of the semester

(4) Adopt educational methods using ICT systems
Use e-learning system and e-portfolio system.

(5) Using the Learning Route Map, students will make their own plans and proceed with their studies.

3) Educational evaluation

(1) Summative assessment at the end of each semester, using formative assessment
In each subject, tests, reports, presentations, etc. are used to evaluate learning outcomes.Reports and presentations are evaluated using rubrics.Evaluations are also conducted during the semester to determine the level of understanding of students and to set up supplementary lessons or to provide feedback to students (formative evaluation).At the end of the semester, a comprehensive overall assessment is conducted (summative assessment).Grading will be conducted in a multifaceted and comprehensive manner by combining these evaluations.

(3) At the end of the second year, we will confirm the acquisition of basic specialized knowledge through an achievement confirmation test.
At the end of the second year, students will take an "Achievement Confirmation Examination" to check their acquisition of basic specialized knowledge and their ability to complete graduation research.Those who fail the exam will be asked to retake the exam and pass the exam.

(4) Graduation research confirms acquisition of specialized knowledge at the time of graduation
The four-year learning outcomes will be comprehensively evaluated through a graduation research (compulsory subject) that deals with issues related to psychology, such as the human mind and behavior.The evaluation method is carried out by multiple instructors using a common evaluation index (evaluation rubric).
