Q1: Please tell us about your current research theme (or field of specialization) and the reason or motivation for choosing that field of study.

My current research interests are 1) effective strategies to raise both the TOEIC scores and English language fluency especially the underachievers, and 2) assessment tools for study abroad programs and Global Research Programs

Q2: Profile

I am from Iloilo, which is located in Western Visayas in the Philippines. I finished my bachelor's degree in secondary education major in teaching English language at the West Visayas State University, which is also in Iloilo. master's degree in ESL at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. After I earned my master's degree, I immediately started my doctoral studies in applied linguistics, which I finished at the De La Salle University in Manila.

Q3: Please give a message to high school students.

Why is English so important nowadays? It is a global language. As a global language it is used by many to communicate for many purposes, including but not limited to, travel, business, education, and sports. you access to multiple cultures. You can do it if you put your heart into learning it.

Cross-cultural understanding, English language teaching practice, English reading, listening, writing and speaking skills
