■ Please tell us about your current research theme (or field of specialization) and the reason why you decided to pursue this field of specialization.

During my tenure at Kobe City Elementary School, I have been working on social studies research since I was young.

“How should I organize the unit plan so that the children can work on it lively?”

“What materials do children use to solve problems on their own?”

"What is the flow of 1 hour?"

We have been aiming for classes in which children play a central role.

Also, every time I put it into practice, I came to realize the importance of creating lessons from the perspectives of "enjoyable lessons," "classes that I understood/completed, but feel the real sense of it," and "classes that feel the joy of gathering wisdom with friends and exploring." rice field.

I would like to share the experiences and learnings I have gained in my life as a teacher with everyone who aspires to become a teacher.

■ Profile

Born in Kobe City and raised in Kobe City. There are seas and mountains.I love Kobe, which is actively trying to incorporate new culture.

In my hometown of Kobe, I spent my life as an elementary school teacher. I have worked as a teacher, vice-principal, and principal at XNUMX Kobe municipal elementary schools, and also worked as a board of education secretariat.

In 7, during his tenure, the city of Kobe was severely damaged by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.I also spent a tough time managing the evacuation center and resuming school.Among them, I met people who are sweating for the reconstruction of our city.I was reminded once again of the importance of bonds between people.I believe that one of my missions is to pass on the lessons learned from the disaster.

■ What do you think is good about working as an elementary school teacher?

I have met countless children and parents.I had the opportunity to be healed by the children's innocent "smiles" and honest "words".Even though I was severely scolded by my parents, I received words of encouragement, saying, "Teacher, I'll leave it to you. Do your best."

And I was able to make friends who worked hard and supported each other in order to become a “good teacher”.I received a joy that cannot be written on this page.

■ Message to high school students

Being a teacher is never an easy job.But it's a "fun" job. It's a career worth spending your life on. We are waiting for people who "love children", "love children", and "want to be a teacher".

At Kansai University of International Studies, there are many friends who are willing to work together towards the same dream.
