Q1: Please tell us about your current research theme (or field of specialization) and the reason or motivation for choosing that field of study.
As a student, I was particular about basic research that objectively supports human behavior and psychological reactions, and majored in neurophysiological psychology using electrocardiograms and electroencephalograms as indicators. This led me to work at the Shizuoka Prefectural Police's Forensic Science Laboratory, where I was in charge of polygraph testing to detect falsehoods (discovery of falsehoods) in suspects.
Although we are currently unable to carry out practical examinations on criminal suspects, we continue to conduct experimental research on polygraph examinations, incorporating the latest academic knowledge.
Q2: Profile
Born in Kyoto City.
After completing a graduate school master's course, at the police forensic research27Yearly work.During this time, I was involved in all important peculiar cases, mainly murder cases that occurred in the prefecture.2I gave it a name.
In order to study North American investigative psychology, he went to the University of Toronto in Canada as a technical officer of the National Police Agency (3months).2001Invited by the Department of Defense to give a presentation at a meeting in Rome regarding the terrorist attacks that occurred in the United States in XNUMX.Acquisition of a degree during tenure (Ph.D.(Psychology)), and then to our university.
Q3: Please give a message to high school students.
A machine equivalent to the polygraph test (for lie detection) used by the National Research Institute of Police Science is available.2It is located in the laboratory of Building No. 1. We do not test actual suspects, but for graduation research, we conduct experimental research in which current students are used as subjects in mock crimes and have them use electrocardiograms and respiration to predict what has been stolen. Students who are interested are welcome to come and visit. We also conduct lie detection experiments on high school students during open campus events.
In addition, in my seminar classes, I place importance on students freely choosing a crime-related topic, making a presentation, and discussing it with other students to increase their knowledge (criminal psychology seminars, specialized seminars). Classes where the teacher talks one-sidedly and students copy what is written on the board into their notebooks should end in high school, and in college, we should have an interactive environment where students can freely study what they want to research.
Q4: Themes that can be cooperated such as lectures and interviews
Special fraud ("I am" fraud), crime prevention for children, criminal investigation in general
