Unique learning

After completing basic studies in the first year,
Choose a course in your second year with an eye to your future

In the Faculty of Education, students learn liberal arts and university study skills in their first year, and clarify their own specialization through real-world experience. Then, from their second year, they look to the future and choose one of five courses: "Education Specialization Course," "Elementary English Course," "Education and Childcare Course," "Social Welfare Specialization Course," or "Welfare and Childcare Course," to acquire further specialized knowledge and skills. In particular, the "Welfare and Childcare Course" trains social workers and childcare workers who can approach the various children's issues that arise in modern society from the two perspectives of "education" and "welfare."

Boasting a high pass rate for the national social worker qualification
Qualification support

In the National Qualification Examination for Social Workers, which requires a score of 129 or more out of 77 points and a correct answer rate of 60% or more, the school recorded an 56.3% pass rate, compared to the national average of 83.3%. Elementary English Course
Graduated from Hyogo Prefectural Itami Nishi High School

In the "pre-training," I was taught how to introduce myself in a way that captures the children's hearts and how to interact with restless children. I also learned how to create lesson plans, so I think I was able to respond calmly at the internship. In the "post-training," I reflected on what I learned during the teaching internship and what challenges arose. I will use this valuable experience in my next internship and in the future.

Thinking from a child's perspective,
The importance of contact
I learned practically.

Education and childcare course
Graduated from Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya Kozan High School

We learned a wide range of knowledge to support the healthy development of children, from health to hygiene, diet, exercise, and play. In the practical exercises, all students played both the role of a childcare worker and a child. By seeing things from the children's perspective, we were able to understand how important it is for a childcare worker to interact with them and create a good atmosphere. My goal in the future is to become an elementary school teacher, but I feel that what I learned in early childhood education will also be useful from the perspective of connected education.

I want to get a teaching job in my hometown
That dream came true.

Daime TakenakaSan

Faculty of Education, Department of Education and Welfare, Graduated in March 2024
Graduated from Hyogo Prefectural Mukonoshou Comprehensive High School

I am currently the homeroom teacher for fourth graders. In addition to teaching Japanese, math, science, social studies, and physical education, I am also involved in classroom management, such as lunch and homeroom. When I teach my classes while thinking about how to interact with the children and what kind of encouragement I should give them to help them, and when that leads to good results, I feel that my hard work is worth it. I am still in the process of discovering what I should be doing, but I feel that I need to improve my teaching skills and my ability to understand the children.
The main reason I chose Kansai University of International Studies was because the campus is located in Amagasaki, where I was born and raised, and I wanted to work in my hometown in the future. After actually enrolling, I felt that the advisors were very close to us students. They not only helped me with classes and my future career, but also with my student life and family. Thanks to that, I was able to spend time in an ideal environment where I could boldly take on the challenges I wanted to take on.
