We offer a thorough Japanese language education, from foundation to practical levels, via a multi tiered curriculum.
■At the time of admission
At admission, we conduct an academic ability diagnostic test to place you in a class at the appropriate language level under the guidance of an advisor. (Kobe Yamate campus only)

We offer comprehensive Japanese language courses to ensure international students gain the necessary proficiency for academic studies at the university. Our curriculum is multi-layered, ranging from basic to advanced Japanese language skills that can be applied in various fields.

Study Support System
We offer a variety of guidance and support systems to help students smoothly adapt to their studies at the university, including support for their new student life, how to register for courses at our university, and how to use our facilities.
■Advisor System
We have implemented a mentorship program where each student is assigned a full-time faculty member as a mentor. This mentor provides comprehensive guidance and advice on academic objectives, career planning, and strategies to overcome academic challenges.
■Faculty Consultation System
This ensures system that a full-time faculty member is available in the lab during specified hours in the spring and fall semesters to discuss students' academic progress, career plans, and more. Besides class-related queries, we also provide advice on various topics , including strategies for gaining qualifications and aspects of student life.
The Secret to KUISs' Education Success: Close, Meaningful Student-Advisor Relationships
Having a supportive faculty advisor is an essential part of a KUISs education. By working with an experienced educator, academic expert, and caring teacher, students benefit from a level of support rare in higher education. Case in point: unlike in most other universities worldwide , KUISs has very few adjunct and part-time faculty. Most of its teachers are Full and Associate Professors. As seen from the chart below, KUISs does its best to keep the ratio between students and full-time teachers, as low as possible. Although the rapid increase in KUISs students in recent years has raised the student-teacher ratio somewhat, it still hovers around 20:1, a low number by domestic and international comparisons.
Similarly, the ratio of students to academic advisors is kept as low as possible. system, students work with faculty to develop customized e-portfolios and learning route maps that help students reflect, evaluate and plan their education in a more metacognitive way. The University-wide ratio of students to academic advisors was about 22:1, with advising intensive programs such as English Communications and Sociology being even lower.
