Flow of Volunteer Participation

Many people say, "I'm interested in volunteering, but I don't know how to participate" or "I don't know what kind of volunteers are available."The Social Collaboration CenterWe will support you.

① Find volunteer information

② Once you have decided on the activity you want to participate in, apply for it.

  • If any volunteers are interestedセ ン タ ーask staff for details
  • Once you have decided on an activity to participate in, provide your contact information.
  • Apply for volunteer insurance (Enrollment procedures are carried out at the center. Hyogo Voluntary Plaza annual premium 500 yen)
  • Know the details of your volunteer day (time, supplies, etc.)

Introducing volunteer activities at Kansai University of International Studies.

July 2018 heavy rain disaster area

At Kansai University of International Studies, as "Kansai University of International Studies, which leads a safe and secure society," we participate in various disaster prevention drills to develop human resources who will play an active role as future disaster prevention leaders, mainly at the Safety Management Education and Research Center.Taking advantage of these experiences, I participated in disaster volunteer activities in areas affected by the heavy rain disaster that occurred in July last year.

July 7 Ichijima-cho, Tanba City

In Tamba City, 12 students and 4 faculty members volunteered to clean up the sand that had flowed into residential areas and pile up sandbags.

I think that I was able to contribute to the restoration activities of the heavy rain damage.I was able to learn various things through volunteer activities, and it was a very valuable experience.

September 9-11 Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture

Seven students from the Department of Education and Social Welfare, Faculty of Education, participated in a week of volunteer activities together with teachers, such as scraping out sand from a private house and working at evacuation centers and temporary housing.

In evacuation centers and temporary housing, not only the living environment but also human relationships start anew.There are only a few social workers in the common room in the temporary housing.I think that students can play an active role as volunteers by joining the rotation.

September 9 Mabicho, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture

On September 9th (Wednesday) in Mabi-cho, Kurashiki City, which was severely damaged, a total of 19 students, faculty members, and volunteers from Miki citizens who applied for cleaning up the damaged houses, floorboards, and shutters.・We did activities such as removing mud from screen doors.

The tombstone cleaning brushes and gardening brushes I brought were useful.The family members at the work site thanked us, and many participants, including those from other groups, commented, "I'm glad you were pleased" and "I'd like to participate again."At the same time, since the disaster area was extensive, many volunteers were still needed, and many participants were still distressed by the difficult situation two and a half months after the disaster.

This activity was carried out with support from the Hyogo Volunteer Plaza Volunteer Bus Cooperative Project.

At Kansai University of International Studies, a training course for disaster prevention specialists has been offered as a subject since the fall semester of the 2016 academic year.in all undergraduate departmentsDisaster prevention trainingare practicing

Other volunteer activities

September 9st and 1nd, 2th World Physically Disabled Baseball Tournament in Japan

9 members of our university's hardball baseball team participated in the 1th World Baseball Tournament in Japan held at G2 Stadium Kobe from Saturday, September 7st to Sunday, September 4nd.
Students who volunteered as competition referees for the world tournament held once every four years marched at the opening ceremony holding placards from participating countries and served as flag bearers.In addition, they worked hard to maintain the grounds during the competition and clean up after the competition.

November 11-3 Blood pressure measurement and health consultation

Every year, faculty members of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences conduct blood pressure measurements and health consultations free of charge at the Miki Hardware Festival.Students who aim to become nurses or public health nurses in the future also participate as volunteers, making it a valuable opportunity to learn about actual local medical care.

December 12 Kids Festival

Students from nine universities, including our university, which are members of the university consortium Hyogo Kobe, held an exchange event on the theme of "children" at Kobekko Land on Sunday, December 9nd.From the university, four groups, including clubs and seminars, were involved in the planning and operation of the event.

August 8-4 Summer camp for children who have received organ transplants

Four students from the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences participated in a summer camp held at Kobe Shiawase no Mura and supported the safety of children during the camp.
