Utilizing logical thinking skills and international education,
I want to contribute to the manufacturing industry.

What did you focus on studying at Kansai University of International Studies?

    Acquiring programming knowledge and skills

I had no programming experience until college, but the classes taught me step-by-step from the very beginning in an easy-to-understand way, so I was able to learn it thoroughly. It was fun to see the program I created actually running on the screen. Also, at Kansai International University, the teachers are close to me, so I can ask questions without hesitation, and there is a learning support room, so the environment is perfect for growth. In four years, I was able to learn everything from basic programming languages such as HTML, PHP, and CSS to app development.

What have you learned through programming?

The habit of working hard and the ability to solve problems

When learning programming, it is especially important to make steady progress. In that sense, I think I have acquired the habit of perseverance and continuing to make steady efforts. Furthermore, since there is no absolute "correct answer" in programming, you have to think about and find the cause and solution for each problem. Through this experience, I was able to hone my ability to think strategically, research, and have a multifaceted perspective. Even after I enter society, I would like to use these skills to solve problems at work.

How do you want to succeed in your workplace?

I want to do work that makes people say "Thank you"

After graduation, I will be in charge of route sales at a company that sells paints, electrical and electronic parts, etc. I've always been good at building relationships, so I would like to work in a position where customers can trust me and say "thank you" to me. In addition, we are in an era of digital transformation, so the company also has a programming department. I studied Microsoft Office, data processing, and statistics at university, so I hope to contribute in a wide range of situations, such as solving problems within the company, improving work efficiency, and revitalizing the business.

Besides IT skills, what else have you acquired over the past four years?

English skills and international education necessary in a globalized age

I didn't want to narrow my horizons for the future, so I studied English hard. I got 845 points on the TOEIC. The company I'm going to work for has bases overseas, so I think it will be useful when communicating in English with foreign staff. In addition, I had the opportunity to learn about domestic and international issues in this global era, such as the structure of customs duties, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, SDGs, and child poverty, which helped me to develop an international culture. Since my employer sells car paint, the issue of customs duties was particularly interesting.

Please give a message to high school students.

In the field of information technology, everyone starts from the same line

Programming is not something we learn much about in high school, so everyone starts from scratch when they enter university. It doesn't matter what your academic background is, but I think it's a field where you can compete with your efforts and skills after entering university. During the internship, I was with students from famous universities and science majors, but I felt confident that I was on par with them in terms of knowledge and skills, and I felt that I was learning well at Kansai International University. I think many people who choose our university are those who want to work hard for four years with a goal in mind. For such people, the Faculty of Information Science is recommended.
