The global study in Anshan, Liaoning, China (Japanese language education activity) has ended successfully. It was a short two-week training, but it was a really intensive training.

Through this global study, I learned two big things. One is that I have deepened my understanding of how Japanese language education should be.In schools in provincial cities in China, such as Anshan, even if there are Japanese language departments, there are still many places where there are no Japanese instructors, and opportunities to converse with native Japanese speakers are rare.In this training, I taught Japanese to students from such a school, and they were very pleased.

Anshan is located in the former Manchuria, and I think that there are many people who have mixed feelings about Japan compared to other regions of China, but there were many students who said that they wanted to study in Japan. .There were a lot of students who became friends with our students on wechat (Chinese version of LINE).After all, I was keenly aware of the importance of going overseas to volunteer in a place where people are happy.

Another point I learned through this global study is about Japan-China relations.During the weekend field trip, we went to Shenyang Imperial Palace in Shenyang, Zhang Shuaifu (the residence of Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang), 918 History Museum (Manchurian Incident Museum), Qianshan in Anshan, Jade Buddha Temple, Angan Group Exhibition Hall, etc. .In addition to deepening my understanding of the history and culture of Shenyang and Anshan, I also had a valuable opportunity to visit the 918 History Museum with Chinese students. This made me keenly aware of the importance of talking among young people, even on sensitive historical issues. His enthusiasm made me think deeply about what future-oriented Japan-China relations should be.

In addition, almost every day, students from Anshan Normal College invite us to dinner and walks around town. Some of them became more knowledgeable, which led to various unexpected learnings.
