Yogyakarta, the ancient capital of Indonesia, has been hit by earthquakes and volcanic disasters many times, including the eruption of Mt. Merapi (2010) and the Central Java Earthquake (2006). , disaster prevention and mitigation measures are being implemented with international support, including Japan.


In this program, 37 students from Malaysia and Vietnam, jointly with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and Atma Jaya University (UAJY), which are prestigious local universities, will discuss the achievements and challenges of Indonesia's disaster response so far. We decided to learn, research, and propose future disaster prevention and mitigation measures and international cooperation.


In particular, there were issues with school education and disaster prevention education for children in the area. collaborated to produce this work, and actually visited a local elementary school and practiced disaster prevention education for 100 fifth-grade children.


The on-site activities of this program were conducted over 8 days from August 22nd to 30th. The results were announced in front of the house.


This time, 22 interdisciplinary students from the Department of Education and Welfare, the Department of Psychology, and the Department of Business Administration, who are interested in disaster prevention and mitigation, participated in this program from our university. Contributed to practical activities.
