[School of Human Sciences] Conducted service learning "Protect the elderly from special fraud" and appealed to local residents to prevent damage through skits

On September 9th (Friday), 6 students from the Department of Human Psychology played a skit at the Jiyugaoka Community Center in Miki City to warn the elderly people of the community about special fraud tactics and how to deal with them.


With the aim of avoiding bank transfer scams, etc., which have become a major social problem, the students cooperated with the Community Safety Section of the Miki Police Station in Hyogo Prefecture, where they learned about the actual state of crime and performed skits. I worked on the production.


Each of the three groups created an easy-to-understand story about the cases of "It's me", "fictitious billing", and "medical expense refund fraud".The culprit tries not to give time to think, so I called attention to calmly respond. Finally, all the people in the community who participated said in unison, "Talking about phone calls and money, that's a scam." rice field.


After the student's skit, Professor Masahiro Yamamoto, the teacher in charge, explained that about 7% of the victims of special fraud are women, and by age group, people in their 70s are the most common. He introduced case studies and spoke about the need for countermeasures in cooperation with financial institutions and convenience stores.
