Kansai University of International Studies
President Atsushi Hamana
Regarding the situation of the new coronavirus infectious disease, there was a sign of improvement, but in July, the number of infected people increased rapidly not only in Tokyo but also in Osaka and other parts of the country, and unfortunately the second wave has arrived. I have also heard voices saying that it is not.
From April 4rd, we started remote classes (method C), and then on May 23st, in response to the lifting of the state of emergency in Hyogo and Osaka prefectures, all classes will be phased out. With face-to-face classes in mind, we have been conducting face-to-face classes (method B) for students who wish to take face-to-face classes since June 5st.
Since mid-June, the situation with the new coronavirus infection has calmed down, so as the next step, we plan to conduct face-to-face classes (method A) on all campuses from the summer semester. However, considering the impact of the recent spread of infection across the country, for the time being (at least for the first zone until August 6rd), all classes that do not require face-to-face classes will be taken remotely during the summer semester. We will use the method, so we will contact all students. We will contact you again when we change the course method.
As a university, we would like to return to face-to-face classes as soon as possible after the corona crisis is over, but we are concerned that the forced remote classes will hinder your learning.
We would like to make improvements by referring to class questionnaires, etc., so that remote classes are not just a substitute method for face-to-face classes, but also a new learning method that provides value to everyone that face-to-face classes do not have. think. We hope that you will take the initiative to participate in class by focusing on preparation and review, actively speaking and asking questions during remote classes, and actively participating in group work and discussions.
■Lecture method: B+ method
Face-to-face attendance only for classes that require face-to-faceage,Distance learning for all classes that do not require face-to-face.
■ Target period: August 8rd (Monday) to August 3rd (Sunday) (mainly for classes held in Zone 8)
*We will inform you later about the opening method of classes from August 8th (Monday) (mainly the second zone of the summer semester: from August 24th).
■ Class selection: The subject of face-to-face classes will be notified later by the Educational Affairs Division.
reference:
Method A (face-to-face class): Face-to-face classes on all campuses (Some part-time courses can be taken remotely in the classroom. In addition, if there are many students and the class is overcrowded, there is also a remote learning on campus).
Method B (both face-to-face and remote classes): Face-to-face lectures at each campus and remote lectures from off-campusTake the course according to the selected and registered method.
Method C (remote class): All students attend remotely from off-campus.
Even during the summer vacation period, please pay close attention to the following changes in the infection situation after this.
