Our university was selected for the Japan Sports Agency's commissioned project "Formation of regional revitalization bases utilizing university sports resources and support for placement of university sports administrators", and on September 2020, 9, the Sports Promotion and Regional Revitalization Promotion Center was established in Miki. installed on campus.
This project aims to allocate a sports administrator to the center, utilize the student sports skills and disaster prevention and medical resources of the Miki Campus, and realize the revitalization of the region linked to the SDGs, the improvement of disaster prevention capabilities, and the promotion of health in the region. to formulate a grand design.
As part of the project, we held a "lifelong sports I (golf practice)" from February 2th (Friday) to 5th (Wednesday).Since October last year, we have been preparing with the Miki City Golf Town Promotion Division, and it is a program that includes classroom lectures, trunk training, and golf practice, all of which are led by gorgeous instructors.
On the first day, February 2th (Friday), Mr. Taizo Kawada, a legend in the golf world, gave a lecture on "Discovering the charm of golf".The students also asked questions such as, "What do you find interesting or difficult about golf compared to other sports?"This lecture will be available from 5/2 as an open lecture in the form of YouTube limited distribution.
From February 2 (Monday) to February 8 (Wednesday), the venue will be moved to Miki Golf Club (2-10 Makiyama, Taruho, Hosokawa-cho, Miki-shi) for practical classes.First of all, it is from the core training that should be said to be the basics of golf. I received guidance from Soichi Hiroto, who advocated the 894-stance theory and has been coached by professional baseball Lotte players and many Olympic athletes.The students enthusiastically took notes on the contents of the lecture, which overturned conventional wisdom.
From the afternoon of February 2th, Norio Suzuki, a pioneer of the Japanese world tour, will give practical instruction.Suzuki, who is usually involved in the training of professional players, this time, he gave guidance to complete beginners in a gentle and easy-to-understand manner. Almost everyone was able to hit the ball.
Students will also work on a “proposal-type report”.We will choose one of the following three measures: popularizing golf among Miki citizens, attracting customers from outside Miki City, and increasing the number of young/female golfers. .The deliverables will be provided to Miki City at a later date.
Taking advantage of this initiative, we plan to continue contributing to the local community in cooperation with Miki City.
