The purpose of this program is to explore what "happiness" means to us through exchanges with people in Bhutan and interview surveys, and to obtain hints for living happily in Japan today.

The 20 participating students first worked on pre-learning to deepen their understanding of Bhutan in preparation for the exchange and research with the Bhutanese international students. With the cooperation of Mr. Ichino, chairman of the Kobe Bhutan Friendship Association, and Mr. Okayama, a former JICA Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer, we raised interest in Bhutan and prepared exchanges and surveys with Bhutanese students.

On the day of the exchange meeting, we welcomed five Bhutanese international students, and in the morning, we had a cross-cultural exchange including presentations by Japanese and Bhutanese.Next, in the afternoon, I made an online call with an acquaintance who currently lives in Bhutan and asked him to report on the real-time situation in Bhutan. Even so, it was reported that there was little traffic, indicating that the spread of the new coronavirus infection was serious. Finally, they were divided into groups of Japanese university students and Bhutanese exchange students, and conducted interview surveys on the theme of "happiness". There was a lively exchange of views on various topics.

In the future post-learning, based on the results of interview surveys, etc., we will deepen our consideration of happiness for us and start writing a research report.
