To students
Kansai International University President
Chief of Crisis Response Headquarters
Atsushi Hamana
This is Hamana, the president of the university. There are days that gradually feel like spring, and I hope that everyone is enjoying their lives safely as we enter the spring vacation period and the winter semester. Thanks to everyone's cooperation and the efforts of our faculty and staff, we were able to finish the fall semester with face-to-face classes, in principle, without causing clusters, although there were a few infected people.
It has been decided that the state of emergency declared in three Kansai prefectures, including Hyogo Prefecture, will be lifted at the end of February. This is due to the fact that the number of new infections has turned to a decrease and the occupancy rate of beds for severe cases has also decreased. It is true that the crampedness of life has eased and social life is gradually returning to normal, but the risk of infection has not disappeared yet, and it seems that it will be quite some time before everyone can receive vaccinations.
Even if the state of emergency is lifted, restaurants will be requested to stay open until 21:XNUMX, and life will not return to normal at once. Therefore, I would like to ask all of you to continue with the infection prevention measures you have taken so far (checking your health, wearing a mask, disinfecting your hands, and using COCOA), and refrain from going out unless it is absolutely necessary. As a university, we will relax some of the restrictions as follows, but please act responsibly and do not overestimate your health so as not to affect your family, friends, and others around you. Stay alert to your actions.
Record
19) Campus closure will be changed from 20:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX (however, the school bus at Miki Campus will continue to operate on a holiday schedule).
XNUMX) Excluding non-essential travel, wide-area travel such as homecoming is permitted.
XNUMX) Stage XNUMX applies to extracurricular activities, etc., and activities that take adequate measures to prevent infection are permitted (see reference materials).
At our university, the degree conferment ceremony and entrance ceremony will be held at Kobe International House, and Reflection Day will be held at each campus with sufficient infection prevention measures in place. Many students will move to the Kobe Yamate Campus from Reflection Day, but please understand the communication from the university and prepare for the new school year.
There is no night without dawn.Everyone, so that we can get out of this corona misfortune as soon as possible, let's get through it with autonomy and not forgetting to be considerate of others.
