In the winter semester of 2020, 17 students, including 168 students from the Department of Business Administration (Amagasaki Campus), passed the disaster prevention qualification exam from our university, which boasts the best training of student disaster prevention specialists at any university in the Kansai region.As a result, as of the end of February 2020, a total of 2 student disaster prevention specialists have been born from our university, and the number is expected to exceed 980 in the next fiscal year.
Just before the start of the training course for disaster prevention specialists in the winter semester, a state of emergency was declared in Hyogo Prefecture, and following the spring semester, it was difficult to hold the event.Classrooms were divided into two so that there was enough space between students, but the lectures were conducted with the instructors moving between each class so that there would be no unfairness between the classrooms.
Students who attended the training course for disaster prevention specialists commented, "After taking this class, I once again felt the horror of disasters and the importance of disaster prevention." ' and 'I realized that when a disaster strikes, we have to help each other in the community.'
In 2021, following the Miki Campus and the Amagasaki Campus, we plan to hold a disaster prevention training course at the Kobe Yamate Campus.
The Disaster Prevention Specialist Training Course started in the fall semester of 2016, and from 2017 onwards, it is open to students in all faculties.
This course is held as a "company cooperation course" with the cooperation of four excellent companies in Hyogo Prefecture that have agreed to develop human resources that contribute to the creation of a safe and secure society.
