[Global Study Report] Global Study I (China/2020 Winter Shandong) Activity Report

In this program, students from China's partner university "Qingdao Binhai Gakuin" and students from our university formed a mixed team, and through online group activities for about 3 months, we learned about the factors behind the rapid spread of cashless payments in China, and in Japan. After considering and analyzing the current situation from various angles, it was carried out with the aim of proposing the ideal form of cashless payments in Japanese society.

An online international workshop was held as a place to present the interim results. The international workshop began with an opening talk by faculty members from both universities, followed by presentations of research results by five groups and a Q&A session. At the presentations, not only faculty members but also participating students actively asked questions about the presentations of other groups, and a lively discussion took place.

In this program, students from four faculties from our university participated, and from Aoshima Hinkai Gakuin, there was a student from the Japanese language department.Originally, we planned to go to the site and conduct research and exchange activities, but due to the global spread of the new coronavirus, we had no choice but to proceed mainly with online group activities. For the participating students, it was a difficult task that required a relatively high degree of perseverance. It was a good experience, and I felt that I was able to achieve a certain level of results in terms of the contents of the survey.

After that, we will enter the post-learning period of this program, and each group will put together a proposal on "cashless spread" and reflect on participating in this program individually. As a culmination of the participation in the program, a final report (poster presentation) by representative groups is scheduled for Saturday, May 5.
