[Tourism Department] "If you do your best, you will be rewarded"

On April 4, an entrance ceremony was held to welcome new members to the Department of Tourism. The day was blessed with fine weather and cherry blossoms in full bloom, making it a perfect day to celebrate the fresh departure of the new students.

In her congratulatory address at the 2019 entrance ceremony for the University of Tokyo, Chizuko Ueno said, "Don't forget that the fact that you think you will be rewarded if you work hard is not the result of your efforts, but the environment. Please do it.”We must not forget that it is thanks to the cooperation of the people around us, including our families and teachers, that we were able to obtain the result of passing the exam in the midst of the corona crisis. However, the fact that the new students embodied the idea that if you work hard, you will be rewarded, the people around you, especially the parents who attended the entrance ceremony, must have been heartbroken.

On April 4, swimmer Ikee was unofficially selected to represent Japan in the medley relay at the Tokyo Olympics. After the race, she said through tears, ``I thought that hard work would pay off, even if it was hard.''She was moved by her tearful speech, and there must have been many people who made her eyes hot.

"Efforts are rewarded", it is true that it is not only the person himself who is rewarded.

Due to the corona crisis, the tourism industry continues to make efforts even if it is painful or difficult. This effort should pay off someday. After that, the day will come when not only the tourism industry but also those who enjoy traveling will be rewarded.
