Aside from using the textbook, L3 group students in Reading Sogo 1 utilize articles from on-line newspapers to learn more English language vocabulary.
The first newspaper article that they have read was "Are you happy? Sensor helps to find out" from The Asahi Shimbun. The article was about using an app to measure the happiness of employees in a workplace. the employees are happy, they become productive.
The second article, which is "Health center pulls advisory against dining with foreigners, explains the reason why the advisory against dining with foreigners" was cancelled.
Students learn not only vocabulary but also how to understand the content of articles using several reading strategies.
