Preparatory study for international students
Our university offers a pre-enrollment Japanese language study program for international students.
During the 3 mornings at the end of March, incoming international students come to the university and practice Japanese using newspaper articles as teaching materials. The faculty members of the Faculty of Sociology give free classes on a daily basis, with each faculty member talking about their area of expertise.
While getting used to the atmosphere of "university classes", it is an opportunity for teachers and students to get to know each other and make friends, which is very useful in preparing for a new university life and alleviating anxiety.

one day class
That day was a class by Associate Professor Nagai and Japanese assistant Professor Iijima.
The first period is a Japanese practice, and the second period is a workshop on "Japanese songs".List your favorite songs that you have heard.Play the song on the spot, read the lyrics, introduce your favorite phrases, and the teacher will explain the parts you don't understand. Famous songs such as "Secret base Kimi ga Kureta Mono (ZONE)", "Funky Monkey Babies", and "SAKURA" were introduced, and the audience was very excited.
Learning various contents other than textbooks is a good way to maintain interest in the language.

Freshman Week (FMW)
At our university, we call the orientation held immediately after April enrollment "Freshman Week."
After a campus tour where seniors showed us around the campus facilities, the weather was fine and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, so all of the new students went for a walk along the cherry blossom trees downstream of the Uji River, which runs through the campus.
I enjoyed a leisurely cherry-blossom viewing walk while communicating mainly with the group I became friends with in the pre-learning course, as well as with friends I hadn't yet met. (* Masks are removed only when taking pictures)
