[To students and parents] Revision of vaccination schedule

students
Dear Parents,

Kansai International University President
Chief of Crisis Response Headquarters
Atsushi Hamana

I thought that the corona wreck in the Kansai area was going to calm down a little, but the situation is unpredictable due to the increase in the ratio of mutant strains. As the end of the semester draws near, students must be busy with final reports and other tasks, even as they take measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Well, today I have to make a disappointing announcement. The following email was sent from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare at midnight on July 7nd.The content is that the vaccination on the schedule desired by our university cannot be implemented due to circumstances such as the preparation system, and the schedule will be delayed.

(Contact from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare)
"As for the venues that have not been confirmed at this time [this applies to our university], we will confirm sequentially, and basically we will be able to start vaccination after the week of August XNUMXth. I'm here.
Regarding new confirmations, we would like to obtain the cooperation of each ministry and agency, consider the situation at each venue, and consider the scheduled start date and application date, etc., and proceed sequentially. For this reason, I believe that the relevant ministries and agencies will hold hearings about the target population for vaccinations early next week, so please respond accordingly.
In addition, regarding university-based vaccinations, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology will take into consideration the need for early vaccinations. In any case,We have secured a total of 5,000 million doses of Moderna's vaccines for occupational and university-based vaccinations that are currently being applied for, and we have secured a sufficient amount even after subtracting 1,200 million doses for large-scale vaccinations from local governments. Therefore, you will have to wait for a while, but it is possible to implement it.'

Due to the above circumstances, the university will contact the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and set a new schedule. As a university, we will do our utmost to ensure that all students, faculty and staff, and their families who are affected by the disease are vaccinated. Therefore, please wait for a while to contact us regarding the vaccination schedule, reservation start date, etc.If you have an opportunity to have a large-scale venue or an individual vaccination before the date of vaccination at our university, you can give priority to that.

Ladies and gentlemen, please take care of your body.
