[Faculty of Psychology] Utilization of Critical Thinking

Remote group presentation -From the first year seminar-

On July 2021, 7, the first grade joint seminar presentation on critical thinking was held remotely.

Critical thinking is the work of deepening one's thoughts by considering one theme from various angles.

Within each seminar, groups of XNUMX to XNUMX people were formed, and over the course of several weeks they researched and considered a single theme, and representative groups selected as a result of presentations within the seminar presented their findings. The themes included "respect for the right to choose euthanasia," "introduction of fully self-driving cars," and "use of smartphones in class."

There is not necessarily one correct answer to these social problems. That is why it is necessary to investigate what kind of opinions there are in the world and what is the reason (basis) for such opinions. Then, based on the information, we will discuss within the group and further expand and deepen our opinions.Ultimately, the flow is to summarize what was discussed in the group and the information gathered in an easy-to-understand slide and make a presentation within the time limit.

In other words, it will lead to the improvement of (XNUMX) the ability to gather information, (XNUMX) the ability to discuss, (XNUMX) the ability to organize opinions, (XNUMX) the ability to create slides, and (XNUMX) the ability to present in an easy-to-understand manner.

It was not possible for everyone to gather in the classroom due to the coronavirus, but they were able to make a solid presentation even remotely.

From now on, I think there will be more opportunities for remote presentations, so I think it was a good practice.
