[G Komi Department] Japanese-English comparison of colors ➂ Rainbow

In Japan, a rainbow is seven colors. In English, there is also a word called vibgyor, which is an acronym for the colors of the rainbow, and there are generally seven colors: violet purple, indigo indigo, blue blue, green green, yellow yellow, orange orange, and red red. However, there are places that say there are six colors, excluding indigo, and there are places where there are three colors: blue, yellow, and red.

A rainbow occurs when light is refracted and reflected by water droplets, but there are various ways of appearing depending on the conditions, and not all seven colors (so-called) can be seen. Some are horizontal rainbows and others appear in moonlight at night. When you see a double rainbow, the inner primary rainbow is darker and the outer is red, but the outer secondary rainbow is lighter and the inner is red, in the opposite color order of the primary rainbow. So please check it out if you have the chance.

Also, many ethnic groups consider the rainbow to be the bridge of heaven or the snake (= water god), but it seems that they are commonly considered to be something sacred.Doesn't it make you feel blessed and happy when you see a rainbow?
