[To all students and parents] Request for cooperation in the outbreak of clusters and infection control measures related to Miki Campus

Dear Parents,
students

President/Crisis Headquarters Director
Atsushi Hamana

The heat has eased in September, but the outbreak of corona infections continues to be severe.Under the declaration of a state of emergency, I believe that everyone continues to pay attention to infection prevention.

○Cluster outbreak related to Miki Campus

At our university, unfortunately, a new infection cluster has occurred from a student on the Miki Campus.not related to classA cluster centered around baseball club members who live in Yuai Dormitory. Starting with the positive case that was found on August 8th, 20 dormitory students and 15 home students were found to be infected by today. It is believed that the main cause was insufficient infection prevention measures during practice or during dormitory life. However, (the university's view), it is very regrettable that 18 people have been infected with the same club, and the club has decided to suspend practices and games until September 9th.

For the time being, the university will allocate relevant staff to Yuai Dormitory at all times to further implement infection control measures and support the lives of infected people, while also working to understand the status of infected people and those who have been in close contact with them.

We hope that the infected students will make a complete recovery, and we apologize for causing concern and inconvenience to many of you.

○A few additional people can be accepted for occupational vaccinations at the Amagasaki campus this weekend.

Regarding this cluster outbreak,18 of the 17 infected were unvaccinatedThis makes us keenly aware of the risks of being unvaccinated, and it can be said that vaccination is highly effective in preventing infection.
We have caused many concerns due to the repeated postponements of occupational vaccinations at our university and the contamination of Moderna vaccines at other venues, but finally, tomorrow, September 9th, vaccinations will begin at the Amagasaki Campus.Reservations have already closed, but we have learned that there are still about 50 people who have been able to get vaccinated elsewhere or who have canceled their reservations due to poor health. The number of infected people among young people and children is increasing, and as the situation in Tokyo has been reported, opportunities for young people to be vaccinated are still insufficient.Even for those who have not yet received the vaccination ticket or have not made an appointment, there is still a small chance to receive the vaccination on campus.Additional applications will be accepted at this opportunity, so if you are interested in applying after reading this document, please do so immediately.

○ Early vaccination is recommended to prevent infection.
It seems that some forces are disseminating negative information about side effects of vaccination, but our university comprehensively judges domestic and foreign information,We are evaluating that vaccination is the best countermeasure at the current stage.
There is an increasing number of cases where people are required to be vaccinated at public facilities, business establishments, and even when watching sports, and are required to present proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test result within the last week.Although it cannot be said that there is a guarantee that vaccination will not lead to infection, the difference in risk has been demonstrated, and the demand for vaccinated people to reduce the risk of contact with unvaccinated people is discriminatory and prejudiced. I can't say.AlreadyThe movement from off-campus training is remarkable, and as crisis management against the risk of infection, even within the university, it is being considered to have a negative PCR test certificate for those who have not been vaccinated, and to set conditions for facility use and attendance. The voice of the proposal to do it is also getting louder. We cannot deny the possibility that access to the campus will be restricted and face-to-face classes will not be possible.
Your choices will be based on such possibilities.Once again, early vaccination is recommended.Even if you are not vaccinated on campus, if possible, please complete your vaccinations before the start of the fall semester, including vaccinations at large vaccination venues.

○Please respond to the survey from the university as soon as possible.
At our university, we would like to understand the decisions and circumstances of everyone's vaccinations, and make judgments about the campus environment and classes. However, more than 10% of the people have not responded to the "Universal Passport" survey, and we are at a loss because we do not know their exact situation. Please reply as soon as possible.

○Consider your health and act cautiously and consult with us.
As reported, despite the fact that an elementary school teacher in the prefecture was positive for corona infection, he made a self-diagnosis of his symptoms and acted, resulting in the closure of all schools. From now on, there will be more opportunities to go to school, including vaccinations, guidance, and the start of classes, but please take good care of your temperature and physical condition. Also, as is well known, if you are aware that you are not feeling well, such as having a fever, you should absolutely avoid going to school unreasonably. If you feel unwell or anxious, please do not hesitate to contact or consult with the health room or advisor.
I would like to maintain and realize a safe and secure campus environment with everyone's cooperation.

Only 3 weeks until Reflection Day.Please show yourself in good spirits on campus.Until then, please live your life with more attention to infection control than ever before.
