In the Yoshida, Takanezawa, and Koiso seminars of the Department of Tourism, third-year PBL (Project Based Learning) classes are given by World One Co., Ltd., a partner company of the university.
The challenge is to "propose a new business model that connects cities and hometowns."
We performed local resources investigation in Minami-Awaji-shi this time.
Minamiawaji City is literally located on the south side of Awaji Island, facing Tokushima Prefecture across the Naruto Strait. It is a major producer of onions and lettuce, and is also blessed with rich marine resources. It is also an area where traditional culture such as Awaji Ningyo Joruri, Nushima Bon Odori, and Awaji roof tile making remain.
However, compared to the north side of Awaji Island, which has been much talked about recently, it is a big problem for Minami-Awaji City Hall that the number of tourists is not growing.
By this fieldwork, we had people of Minami-Awaji-shi government office business and industry sightseeing section cooperate and actually visited local various resources in three seminars and investigated the charm and problem.
From producers, we were able to gather not only the appeal of their products, but also their problems and concerns. .
In addition, in the process of the survey, it seems that the attractiveness and issues of the region seen from the student's point of view have been revealed. At the end of the survey, we reported our frank impressions to the people of the Commerce, Industry and Tourism Division of the city hall, and received evaluations from new perspectives.
From now on, based on the information obtained in the fieldwork, discussions will continue in each seminar toward the final report in December.
What kind of ideas do you come up with?Stay tuned for future reports!
