When you think of a nursing job, you may have a big image of wearing a white coat and working for patients in a hospital.

The Code of Ethics of the Japanese Nursing Association states in its preamble, ``Nursing is intended to maintain and promote health, prevent disease, restore health, relieve pain, and protect people throughout their lives. The aim is to work with the strengths of each person to live their life to the fullest. It is required to respect human rights such as the right to receive.”

Approximately 8% of the world is considered to be developing countries, and because of poverty, they suffer from hunger and are prone to disease and death.Without education, they spend their lives in poverty and unsanitary conditions. In addition, there are people who are persecuted for their differences in beliefs and ideas, and their lives are in danger.Driven out of their safe place to live, they live without freedom as refugees.

In the world (including Japan, of course), unique cultures have been created by geography, climate, thoughts and religions, and have been carefully handed down in people's lives. Each one was created by human ingenuity, and each one is beautiful and wonderfully revered. However, it is also true that there are people who suffer from conflicts, disasters, discrimination, persecution, and poverty.Imagine their anxiety, worry, fear and despair. For such people, nursing, which protects "life, health, livelihood, and dignity" and provides holistic care, demonstrates tremendous power. It is based on the principle of nursing, which is universal in that it targets all people in all places.

Respecting the cultures of each person around the world and practicing care for people facing difficulties brings physical, mental, and social safety, security, and well-being.
