Last time,The road to becoming a nurse Part XNUMXI explained about "Practice in Pediatric Nursing".
Today, I will introduce some of the contents of the actual pediatric nursing practice.
Nurses measure vital signs such as body temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, and auscultate in order to ascertain the health status of hospitalized children. For adults, vital sign measurement is nothing special, but for children, being measured by unfamiliar nurses, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and other instruments can lead to fear, and they may cry or act violently. .For this reason, it is necessary to explain in words that children can understand, using words and tools, either in advance or while actually measuring.
Therefore, I created the picture book "Hello, Pippi, can you do it?" to explain vital signs measurement for children, and I got involved with the children who were in charge of it.

A character popular with children comes as a nurse.

"Let's see if the body is fine!"
"First, measure your pulse (heart rate)."

In addition to children's picture books, I made explanatory cards for children.
