With the declaration of a state of emergency lifted nationwide, I believe that students and their parents are gradually regaining a stable life.At our university, face-to-face classes are in full swing, and the campus is returning to life.
However, the COVID-6 pandemic is far from over, and we must not forget the concerns of governments and experts about the dangers of a sixth wave of infections. As a university, we will continue to take measures against infectious diseases and basically continue to take measures to prevent infection, such as temperature checks when entering the campus. We believe that these measures are necessary to keep our lives safe and secure.
About 1.8% of our students have been vaccinated twice or are waiting for an appointment for the second dose, excluding a little more than 10%, including 85% of students who cannot be vaccinated due to illness. , has already started action for vaccination. There is no doubt that the completion rate of two doses nationwide has exceeded 2%, and that the vaccination rate has become one of the top in the world, which has led to the suppression of the number of infected people.
As a policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, universities are required to make sure that students who have not been vaccinated will not be disadvantaged in participating in classes or extracurricular activities.
Therefore, from the perspective of preventing the spread of infection in the future, regarding the participation of non-vaccinated students, who have a higher risk of infection than students who have been vaccinated, in practical training, extracurricular activities (activities such as clubs), and educational activities (activities that are part of classes). We have determined that it is necessary to have a unified policy as a university, and hereby announce that we have established the "Policy for infection control during practical training and extracurricular activities" as follows.
Record
Participation in practical training, extracurricular activities, etc.
- For practical training, etc. (practical training and extracurricular educational activities as part of classes) and extracurricular activities, etc. (clubs, circles, etc., extracurricular activities), please submit a plan in advance to the university (practical training, extracurricular experiential learning, etc. Activities, etc. must be submitted to the Center for Student Affairs and permission must be obtained prior to implementation.
- If vaccination or PCR testing is required by the host institution for practical training or extracurricular activities, we will comply with that request.
- If the place of training or off-campus activities is indoors, regardless of whether or not vaccination is given, permission must be limited to public facilities and physical education facilities where facility managers are stationed and infection control measures are being implemented. will do.
In the case of outdoor events, if it is determined that sufficient measures such as ventilation can be taken, participation will be allowed more flexibly. - If the activity does not involve high risk of infection or close contact, we will allow participation without setting a condition that the participant has been vaccinated as a condition for participation.
- If the activities in 4. above include activities that pose a high risk of infection or activities that lead to close contact, we will ask that you have been vaccinated or undergo a PCR test for those who have not been vaccinated. (In this case, the results of the PCR test within 72 hours before the activity will be valid.)
In addition, students who cannot participate in practical training, etc. due to circumstances that cannot receive vaccinations or PCR tests will be handled in make-up classes, etc., according to the instructions of the instructor in charge of the subject.
(Basis) Currently, the government is at the stage of trialing the "vaccine/test package" devised as part of the step-by-step mitigation measures for daily life after vaccination. - Regarding extracurricular activities, etc. on campus conducted by students, we will thoroughly implement measures to minimize the risk of infection regarding activity locations, activity times, number of people involved, and activity methods. Students are allowed to participate in any activity. (Even in this case, permission is required after submitting an activity plan in advance)
- Regarding student participation in activities that accept visitors from outside, such as open campuses, if the activity involves close contact, students must be vaccinated or undergo a PCR test if they have not been vaccinated (see 5. above). ).
- In addition, individual matters not stipulated in this policy will be decided after discussion at the Crisis Response Headquarters meeting.
This policy may be changed in the future if the infection spreads rapidly and the medical system is expected to be overwhelmed.
Finally, everyone, even if you are vaccinated, it does not mean that you will never get infected. In light of the fact that no changes have been made to the government's infection control policy, we have decided to continue the current infection control standards without any changes. Please be aware and act responsibly.Everyone's cooperation is essential to lead a safe campus life.
