[G Komi Department] Study Abroad Preparation Fieldwork (Kobe Muslim Mosque Visit)

Hello everyone.
At the Department of English Communication, various studies and preparations are underway for studying abroad.

The study abroad destinations of this department are mainly in Southeast Asia where many Japanese companies are expanding. In Southeast Asia, the language, culture, climate, and everything else are very different from Japan, but the difference in religion is especially large. Therefore, before studying abroad, it is necessary to have a thorough knowledge of the local religious culture.
As part of the pre-learning, I visited the Kobe Muslim Mosque and heard stories.

A mosque is a place of prayer for Muslims and is often described as an Islamic temple, but it is not an object of worship like the Buddhist statues in temples. There is also a stained glass like a church, and most churches have pictures of gods,
The stained glass of the mosque does not have such pictures at all.
This is because of the teaching that we are directly connected to God and that there should not be anything (images, etc.) between us.
Before praying, it is necessary to purify the body, and the mosque has a spring for that purpose.

I heard these stories directly from the imam (prayer leader), and I was able to actually observe the prayers of Muslims.I also had the valuable experience of touching the Koran (Bible).
In Japan, many people are still unfamiliar with Islam, and they will deepen their knowledge of Islam and prepare for studying abroad from next year.
I am looking forward to the day when I can study abroad without restrictions.
