I participated in an internship at Wedding Salon Inoue in Motomachi, Kobe from August 8th to 13rd.

Wedding Salon Inoue is a company that rents and sells wedding costumes, and has stores in Motomachi, Kobe and Umeda, Osaka. In addition to rental and sales, we also offer photo plans and make original dresses.

On August 8th and 14th, I participated as a staff member at the Shichi-Go-San festival held at Ikuta Shrine.

Since it was a meeting to reserve costumes for the day of Shichi-Go-San, the work involved having children try on hakama and kimono, making reservations for costumes, and filling out application forms. It was my first time serving customers, so I struggled with my sense of distance and choice of words. From the second day onwards, I watched the seniors' customer service methods, and served customers while being conscious of what words to choose to communicate clearly to customers, and what to say when letting children try on clothes.

From the 17th to the 23rd, I learned about the business of a dress shop at the Motomachi store.

Cleaning, transportation of dresses, display fitting, preparation of dresses, I mainly did these four tasks.Cleaning included cleaning the stairs and floors, as well as teaching me how to fold and display kimonos, displaying dresses, and refolding kimonos after trying them on.

Before the wedding, the dress is chosen first, then the accessories that go with it, and the final fitting is done a week or two before the wedding. We prepared dresses and accessories 1 minutes before the visit, and shoes and underwear for the final fitting so that customers could be fitted as soon as they arrived.

Through this internship, I realized that my communication and application skills were lacking.

During the Shichi-Go-San order meeting, I was very conscious of not forgetting what I was taught. However, when I see senior customers serving customers, I have to provide customer service that suits each person, such as casually saying a word when asking them to fill out an application form, or calling out to my child when trying it on.I felt that.In my work, I learned that it is important to add something in my own way to what I have been taught so that I can respond flexibly to the situation.

Similarly, I felt that my application skills were lacking at the Shichi-Go-San order meeting. In particular, it is the ability to apply words to convey to others. My knowledge of applied ability is the ability to choose the appropriate one from experience for the situation that happened.Fundamental skills are important to acquire application skills. This is because having the basic skills allows you to recognize patterns from your experiences, and even if you are experiencing a situation for the first time, you can notice similarities in your own experiences and deal with them.If I had experience in serving customers at a part-time job, I think I would have been able to handle customers more appropriately at this Shichi-Go-San order meeting.

It is possible to be conscious of and improve the applied ability of communicating with others in words during university life. For example, you can challenge things that you were not good at until now, such as presentations at debriefings and seminars, and accumulate experience and cultivate basic skills. You can't grow unless you challenge yourself.Realizing this this time was a great opportunity for me to grow.

Next year will be the year when we will start activities with a view to job hunting.Until then, my goal is to increase the power that I lack.
