[Faculty of Business Administration] Learn about Miki City's golf industry

There are 25 golf courses in Miki City, and there is a "Golf Town Promotion Division" that is unprecedented in Japan.

In the "Project Management Exercise" in the second year of the Faculty of Business Administration, Miki Campus, we focused on "golf," which is one of the three major industries in Miki City. I'm thinking aboutDuring the spring semester, I had the opportunity to speak with the manager of the golf course, and the number of students who are interested in golf has increased.

In the fall semester, groups discussed the current situation, issues, and countermeasures on "How to spread golf among young people," "How to increase the number of female golfers," "How to spread golf among Miki citizens," and "How to attract customers from outside Miki City." We considered the measures and put them together using Jamboard.

Since there are only a few people with golf experience, I visited the "Miki Golf Club" during the "Project Management Exercise III" on November 11nd.

Although it is only about 15 minutes away from the university, I was surprised by the vast golf course with clear air, and I was able to notice the thorough facility management such as maintenance of the turf.

During the ball-hitting practice, there were scenes where not only the ball but also the club flew, and the students of the sports club, even beginners, hit a considerable distance. However, during demonstrations by professional golfers, there was a roar of amazement at the amazing shots on a different level. In the competition room, the courtesy of the staff made him realize that golf is a gentleman's sport.Although it was only a short half-day, I was able to have a valuable experience that I would not have been able to enjoy without actually visiting.

In the post-training retrospective, he said, "Miki is famous for golf, so I would like to convey the goodness of golf to young people." There are things that are difficult, but I thought it was necessary to change according to the situation.”In the winter term, an internship at a golf course is also planned.Taking advantage of the location of the Miki Campus, it was a good opportunity to learn about regional revitalization through the golf industry.

This activity was subsidized by the Japan Sports Agency commissioned project <Project to support the formation of regional revitalization bases utilizing university sports resources and placement of university administrators>.
