Eiji Tanaka's seminar, a sophomore in the Department of Tourism at our university(Project Management Seminar I)In the first half of this fiscal year, we will collaborate with Kato City to work on a PBL-type program that proposes measures and projects that will allow tourists to stay longer in Kato City under the theme of "revitalization of local industries through tourism." .
In the first seminar, we had people from the Commerce, Industry and Tourism Division of the Kato City Industrial Promotion Department come to our university and explain about this project. After an overview of Kato City, sightseeing spots, events, special products, etc. were introduced, the issues that Kato City is currently facing were explained, and the theme of this project was conveyed to the students. After that, the questions from the students were answered, and the PBL type program "Kato Project" finally started!
First of all, in order for students to become familiar with Kato City, each student collects information about Kato City and shares it using the university's learning support system. In the future, we will dig deeper into the theme through fieldwork in Kato City, interviews with related parties, questionnaire surveys, etc., and discover the issues contained therein. In response to that, the members of each group worked out their ideas.I'll put together a proposal. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy the proposal presentation scheduled in October, such as disseminating information about Kato City on SNS such as Instagram.
