Eiji Tanaka, a second-year student in the Department of Tourism, collaborates with Kato City to propose measures and projects to encourage tourists to stay longer in Kato City under the theme of "revitalizing local industries through tourism." I am working on a PBL type program.

In June, we did fieldwork visiting major sightseeing spots in Kato City by bus.Take the bus in front of Kobe Station and first grasp the time and distance of the bus travel from Kobe to Kato City. This is also important fieldwork.

After that, first visit Banshu Kiyomizu Temple, which is visited by many tourists in Kato City.Banshu Kiyomizu-dera is the twenty-fifth temple of the Saigoku XNUMX Temple Tour, and is also where the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune remains.I listened to the explanation from the Kato City Tourism Association, and gathered information by hearing various things at the shop in the precincts.Of course, we also bought some souvenirs!

Next, there are many tourists here as well.Lake TojoWe toured around Lake Tojo, such as Omocha Kingdom and Mobilage Lake Tojo, and explored the issues facing tourist facilities in Kato City.In addition, Chokoji Temple, a National Treasure where you can see the characteristics of temple architecture in the Banshu area, which is a combination of Japanese and Chinese styles, Kannonji Temple, which is related to Ako Gishi, Prefectural Harima Central Park, where you can enjoy cycling and sports We visited sightseeing spots in Kato City, such as Toryu-nada, where the rocks fill the riverbed, and the delicious frappe at the HRN Cafe.

In the future, based on what we have learned from the fieldwork, we will analyze the current situation, subdivide the issues, identify the issues to be tackled by each group, and make proposals. An interim announcement is scheduled for August, and a final announcement is scheduled for October.Students from the University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences are also participating in this program, and the interim and final presentations will be jointly conducted by the two universities.I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of proposals come out.
