Students from Hyogo Prefectural Miki High School, who aim to enter the medical field in the future, visited Kansai University of International Studies Miki Campus to experience nursing.
Professor Nobuko Matsuda, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, and Professor Naoko Ito, Dean of the Department of Health Sciences, talked about the challenges of pursuing nursing, the significance of studying nursing at a four-year university, and what they want students to experience in high school. The students listened with great interest as they talked about a wide range of topics.
After that, I entered a class for students aiming to become midwives, and I gave a mock class in the field of midwifery, which is popular among high school students and nursing students, as “delivery assistance and newborn care immediately after childbirth,” while performing just like the real thing. I was able to experience it.One of the students commented, "I don't have many opportunities to have this kind of experience, so I got a real sense of it." I want to contribute to someone by becoming a nurse who can save lives," and "I couldn't describe the weight of the baby doll, so I wanted to become a midwife again." .
In addition, in interviews with current students aiming to become nurses, high school students talked about their own experiences, such as studying at university, university life, and what they should do in high school before entering university. I asked a question and had a two-way exchange.Some of the students said that they were able to imagine the future from the senior college students chasing their dreams.
