On October 2022, 10, when the weather was clear in autumn, I visited Tamba City as part of the Service Learning A (Miki City and Tamba City Regional Revitalization Project) that will be held in the 1 Fall/Winter term.
After leaving the Miki Campus, the first place we visit is the roadside station "Grandma's Village" just off the Kasuga Interchange. We will see the successful examples of roadside stations with our own eyes.
After that, we moved to a pesticide-free farm, observed how black soybeans are cultivated, and heard about the hardships of cultivation.Second-year students majoring in regional management in the Faculty of Business Administration will holdAsian Festivalso"Tajima, Tamba, and Miki Good Products Exhibition” will be held, and edamame will be sold, but it should be special to sell it after knowing the passion of the creator.
For lunch, we enjoyed Tamba's delicacies such as seasonal chestnut rice and black soybean somen noodles at the Yumenoki Shokudo.

In the afternoon, we moved to the atelier of Chihiro Irazumus, a Tamba-fu artist, and received a lecture on the history of Tamba-fu.After that, I made Tamba-fu coasters, hair ties, and walnut buttons. It should have been unfamiliar work with a needle and thread, but he finished it skillfully. The completed works will be used as samples for the open lecture at Miki Campus on November 11th and the workshop at Yoshikawa Library on January 26nd.
These activities will lead to activities for future regional revitalization.
