Entrepreneurship Research Association BEING is a circle established in 2020 mainly by students of the Department of Tourism, and is engaged in proposing business plans in collaboration with regions and companies and supporting activities to promote tourism.From October of this year, we started the "Minami-Awaji sightseeing area future co-creation project" in collaboration with Minami-Awaji city and local businesses.
Recently, Awaji Island has been attracting attention as a tourist spot.But isn't that viewpoint concentrated on the north side of Awaji Island?In Minami-Awaji City, there are not only onions and the whirlpools of the Naruto Strait, but also a variety of local resources, including Awaji roof tiles, Ningyo joruri, and hand-stretched somen noodles.Together with the local people, we will think about how to create a sustainable tourist area that utilizes the rich charm of the area while making use of the young people's perspective.
On October 10th, we participated in a monitor guided tour for inbound tourists in the Fukura district, and then held a kick-off meeting with the City Commerce, Industry and Tourism Division and Uzunokuni Minamiawaji Co., Ltd.In the monitor tour, while listening to commentary from an English-speaking guide, we experienced Ningyo Joruri and fishing boat cruises in Fukura Bay.
In addition, at the kick-off meeting, a lively exchange of opinions took place, including an explanation of the values unique to young people, while looking back on the contents of the tour.
This project has been adopted by Hyogo Prefecture as a project to support regional revitalization activities in collaboration with universities, and we plan to continue this as a long-term initiative.
