The clarinet trio and saxophone quartet teams of the university's brass band participated in the Hyogo Prefecture Ensemble Contest held in Awaji City on January 1nd, and won silver (Cl trio) and bronze (Sax quartet), respectively.
The clarinet trio took on the challenge of a modern musical composition by picking up "Magic Lady - Paraphrase I from the opera 'The Magic Flute'" (Taku Tsujimine).For the saxophone quartet, we chose "Arion's Kotouta" (Koji Yagisawa), and worked on creating music that makes use of lively rhythms and beautiful melodies.
Using this experience, the club members will continue practicing for the first regular concert scheduled for March 3th.
