Since 1985, Kobe City has provided scholarships to privately financed international students as part of its international student support project. This time, two international students of our university were selected as scholarship students.

At the award ceremony, the mayor of Kobe said, "Even though you come from different backgrounds and universities, you are studying together in the same Kobe. We will use the scholarship to study in Kobe, and each of us will decide which path to choose for our future." I want you to think about it. I hope that studying abroad in Kobe will be a stepping stone for your future.”

Takashi Sugawara, the grandson of Ichiro Sugawara, who made the donation, commented, "My grandfather ran a company that imported timber from Asia. I hear that the scholarship has started.I hope that you will not only study, but also make friends, travel, and have many good experiences. In the future, I hope that you will repay the kindness by building strong ties with Kobe. I want you to do it. I think that's what my grandfather wants."

After the award ceremony, an opinion exchange meeting was held with the Mayor of Kobe, Mr. Sugawara, and other scholarship students.Scholarship students from various countries actively exchanged opinions on Kobe City's safety measures, population decline, the role of foreign nationals, and disaster information provision.Mr. Wahid from Kobe University asked, "Kobe City supports startups, but I feel that there are not enough activities for young people and students. Do you have any plans for an innovation contest?" replied, "We would like to consider it as a contest that includes international students."

Scholar1Throughout the year, I plan to participate in various events hosted by Kobe City and become a bridge between Japanese people and my home country.

Research plans and research status while studying abroad, career paths after graduating from university

I belong to the Multicultural Coexistence Major in the Faculty of International Communication. In order to conduct international business in the future, it will be necessary to create new ideas and take action to realize them.I believe that by studying the Multicultural Coexistence Major, we will be able to discover new ideas and create more diverse ideas through communication and interaction with people from different cultures.

Currently, we are developing applications that utilize virtual space in cooperation with companies in Kobe through overseas developers and "Anchor Kobe" established by Kobe City.In the virtual world, you can freely do things that you cannot experience in the real world.Until now, virtual space has been used only for games, but in the future, it will have a great impact on daily life, business, education, and so on.The virtualized space can be used for various purposes, so it becomes a game of ideas.Through this, we aim to be able to build better human relationships and communication even in the real world.
