
Fajar Afrilia Wahyuningtyas is an exchange student under the Department of Global Communication. She is from Dharma Persada University in Indonesia To know more about Fajar, below is the information from an interview.
① What is the name of your university, your department and your major in your home country?
ENG: Hello my name is Fajar, I studied Japanese Language and Culture in my home university, Darma Persada University, Jakarta, Indonesia.
IND: Halo nama saya Fajar, saya belajar Bahasa dan kebudayaan Jepang di Universitas Darma Persada, Indonesia.
JPN:Hello, nice to meet you!My name is Fajal.I am studying Japanese Language and Literature at Dharma Persada University in Indonesia.
② Tell us about what you usually do in your pastime.
ENG: I usually watch anime, read ebook or listening to music in my free time. But recently I started working part time so I think it sums up my activities outside school.
IND: Saya biasanya menghabiskan waktu luang saya untuk membaca ebook, menerjemahkan lagu yang saya suka atau menonton anime. Namun akhir-akhir ini saya baru saja memulai kerja part-time, jadi saya pikir itu cukup menjelaskan kegiatan saya di luar sekolah.
JPN: In my free time, I work part-time, read eBooks, and translate my favorite music.I also watch anime from time to time.Recently, I have a part-time job, so I don't have much free time after school.
③ How about any local activity to do in your hometown or province?
ENG: There are many local activities to do in my hometown or province and we can choose just like I mentioned above. You can go to amusement park, or climbing mountain, skydiving, etc.
IND: Banyak aktivitas yang dapat dilakukan di kota kelahiran saya seperti yang sudah saya sebutkan di atas seperti pergi ke Taman Hiburan, mendaki gunung, skydiving dan banyak lagi lainnya.
JPN: In my hometown/region there are many local activities to do and as I said above you can choose.You can go to an amusement park, go mountain climbing, skydiving, and more.

⑤ Tell us why you have decided to study in Japan?
ENG: I decided to study in Japan for my own gain and experience. There are many things that I'd like to know about Japan, whether its culture, education, and life experiences. and know more about Japan.
IND: Saya memutuskan untuk belajar di Jepang untuk pengalaman saya sendiri. Banyak hal yang ingin saya tahu tentang Jepang dari kebudayaannya, kehidupannya dan pengalaman hidup lainnya.
JPN: I decided to study in Japan for my own benefit and experience.There are many things I want to know about Japan, such as Japanese culture, education, and life experiences.So by studying here, I want to achieve that and learn more about Japan.
⑥ What are the courses you are taking now at the Department of Global Communication?
ENG: I'm taking many courses right now at the Department of Global Communication like Japanese Pop Culture, Japanese Literature, English reading, Japanese writing, Japanese Grammar, and English Writing.
IND: Saya mengambil beberapa diskursus selama belajar di Program Studi Komunikasi Global di KUIS seperti pop kultur Jepang, sastra Jepang, reading baik dalam Bahasa Jepang dan Inggris, tata Bahasa Jepang dan Inggris.
JPN: Currently, I am participating in many classes in the Department of Global Communication, including Japanese pop culture, Japanese literature, English reading, Japanese writing, Japanese grammar, and English writing.
⑦ What would you like to see and do while in Japan?
ENG: The main goal is to study Japanese more since I know that I'm bad at reading kanji so this is really the golden chance for me. Another thing is, I'd like to explore the historical sites in Japan, started from nearby Kyoto. Aside from that I'd like to do part time job too. I can earn some money while learning how working in Japan feels like.
IND: Tujuan utama saya ialah belajar Bahasa Jepang dengan lebih giat lagi karena saya tidak begitu mahir dalam membaca kanji jadi ini adalah kesempatan emas buat saya. dari Kyoto, yang terdekat dengan tempat tinggal saya sekarang. Saya juga ingin melakukan part time job, karena selain mendapatkan uang saya juga bisa belajar bagaimana kehidupan kerja di Jepang
JPN: My main goal is to study more Japanese.I'm not very good at reading kanji, so this is the perfect opportunity for me.Another reason is that I want to visit historical sites in Japan starting from nearby Kyoto.Apart from that, I also want to have a part-time job.You can earn money while learning what it's like to work in Japan.
⑧ What is your career goal after graduation?
ENG: I want to work in Japanese company, or in any multinational company where I can use my language skills.
IND: Saya ingin bekerja di perusahaan Jepang atau perusahaan multinasional lainnya di mana saya dapat mengasah lebih lagi kemampuan berbahasa saya dalam bahasa asing tentunya.
JPN: I want to work at a Japanese company or a multinational company where I can use my language skills.
⑨ In order to learn and enjoy, what is your advice to Japanese students who would like to visit and study in your country?
IND: Indonesia merupakan negara dengan bermacam perpaduan budaya. Dari Chinese, Arab, sampai budaya lokal dapat ditemukan di sini. kita gunakan mungkin seperti kamu tahu adalah Bahasa Indonesia, dan Bahasa ini sangat mudah karena tidak terlalu banyak terikat dengan tata Bahasa yang rumit. Kamu pasti dapat berbicara secara lancar hanya dalam waktu beberapa bulan saja. yang masih digunakan hingga kini, namun kamu tidak usah khawatir karena dalam percakapan sehari-hari, kita menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia. Saya bisa menjamin kamu akan mendapatkan pengalaman yang luar biasa dengan berkunjung atau bahkan tinggal di negara kami.
ENG: Indonesia is a country with various blends of cultures. From Chinese, Arabic, to local culture can be found here. You will definitely get an unforgettable experience of seeing various cultures assimilated and mixed into one. we use as you may know is Indonesian, and this language is very easy because it's not too much tied to complicated grammar. You should be able to speak fluently in just a few months. Apart from Indonesian, there are more than 700 languages in Indonesia that are still used today, but you don't need to worry because in everyday conversations, we use Indonesian. I can guarantee that you will have an amazing experience visiting or even living in our country. My advice will be, just sit back, relax and enjoy.
