[Faculty of Psychology] Global Study I (Bhutan/2022) Activity Report
The purpose of this program is to explore what "happiness" means to us through exchanges with people in Bhutan and interview surveys, and to obtain hints for living happily in Japan today.
In the program, we first worked on pre-learning to deepen our understanding of Bhutan. This year, three experts with ties to Bhutan [Takushi Tsuji (Representative of Tsuji Business Support Office, Former Honorary Consul of the Royal Consulate of Bhutan in Osaka), Kazuo Ichino (Kobe Bhutan Friendship Association), Rie Katayama (Principal of Perkill School)] We were able to hold an online lecture by Bhutan, and we were able to learn about culture, political exchanges, and the recent educational situation in Bhutan.
In the online exchange meeting, which is the main activity, 8 high school students from Bhutan's Perkir School and 8 Japanese university students participated, gave presentations to each other, and announced the results of the preliminary survey. It was an opportunity to deepen the discussion about the happiness of the Japanese people. At the end, we were divided into breakout rooms, where one Japanese university student and one Bhutanese high school student exchanged opinions on “happiness” with the help of an interpreter. I have been told.
In the post-learning session, we were able to reflect on the activities, summarize the data obtained from the survey, create a report on the results, and report on the results at the global study general debriefing session.
