From the Department of English Communication*, in the fall semester of 2023global researchA dispatch decision notification award ceremony was held for students who will be dispatched overseas.
Global research aims to develop the ability to understand the diverse values and cultures of people around the world, and to think and act on their own, which is necessary for global human resources. This is a course for students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of international communication by engaging in study abroad for a period of time and working on issues related to local society and culture inside and outside the local university.
A representative of the dispatched students said, "Our high school life was greatly affected by the spread of the coronavirus, and our exchanges with other countries were hindered. There are still people infected with the coronavirus, but we are able to go abroad. I will cherish the environment and do my best not only for my own growth, but also to become a person who can have a positive impact on the university and the world."
Afterwards, President Hamana handed out a notice to each student, saying, "You were only learning English as a condition. The real thing will come after you go abroad. Even if you find differences between Japan and other countries, you have found the facts." It starts with wondering why.Not only do research on the theme prepared in advance, but there are many things to notice when you go there. It is necessary to develop the theme prepared in advance. What should you do? Do you want to go or collect predetermined information? I want you to learn what you can't learn remotely, exercise your powers of observation, create causes and effects, and use your five senses to discover and solve." Advice and words of encouragement were given to the students.

*The name will be changed to the Department of Global Communication from April 2023.
