Lecturer Liu Cong, who is affiliated with the Faculty of International Communication at our university, will be participating in a discussion event on October 10st at the Ginza branch of the Chinese independent bookstore Danxiangjie Bookstore.

Professor Liu will be a guest and will ask Professor Wang Qian, a humanities scholar and author of the famous book ``China's Reading of Modern Thought,'' about the latest academic trends in China and his views on the international situation. If you are interested, please feel free to join us.

Quoted from the bookstore site below

As China's presence grows, so does its influence on the world.Looking at recent public opinion polls, it seems that anti-China sentiment is on the rise, especially in developed countries.Against this backdrop, experts from various countries are conducting various analyzes to determine what China is thinking about and where it is headed. However, it seems that the focus is overwhelmingly on the political and economic situation of the moment, and very little attention is paid to the inside of Chinese society, especially the world of thought and culture.

Against this background, humanities scholar Wang Qian and Kansai International University lecturer Liu Han will visit the Danxiang Street Bookstore for a discussion. We will explore how Chinese intellectuals incorporate foreign thought and culture, discuss the current state and future of Chinese society from both internal and external perspectives, and better understand the changing social culture and thought of China. I would be happy if I could share a new perspective for understanding.
