Kansai International University's Academic Support Office offers a variety of programs to support students' studies, including Center Office Hours, where students can consult with teachers, and Center Programs, which are useful for qualification exams and job hunting.Among these, the one who is closest to students is the ``Study Support Tutor.''
Current senior students will work closely with you to discuss classes, practical training, reports, and assignments together. The main activities of the spring semester were individual counseling in the academic support office and study sessions planned by tutors.During the individual consultations, I listened and responded to each student's questions, such as problems with their reports, study methods, and basic computer operation methods. When planning study sessions and support sessions, the tutors themselves set subjects and assignments based on their own experience of having trouble studying and preparing for the lessons, and were able to get many students to participate.
We asked academic support tutors from each campus to reflect on their activities during the spring semester, how to tackle daily challenges, and how to utilize the academic support office.

The thing I remember most from the spring semester activities was the basic biology study session. This subject was a more in-depth study than in high school, so I couldn't keep up with the amount of knowledge I had up until now, and I had a lot of trouble with it in the past. For this reason, we created original materials and questions and held study sessions in class format to help first-year students organize and understand the lesson content. We received happy comments from those who participated, saying, ``The study session was very informative.''
What I am conscious of when studying and working on assignments is to prioritize and do them in a planned manner. What should I do when I have a huge amount of study and assignments in front of me?Where should I start? There's no end!I will think. However, by counting backwards from the submission date and prioritizing your work, you will be able to clarify what needs to be done and put 100% of your effort into each assignment. Also, no matter how much you plan, if you don't know what you're planning, you won't be able to proceed, so I proactively ask teachers during office hours and consult with senior academic support tutors.
In the fall semester, more specialized studies will begin. You may find it difficult or worry about the amount of things you have to memorize. In such a case, please feel free to come to the Academic Support Office!

During spring semester activities, I was asked, ``Mr. Kako, are you here this week?'' from someone I had never talked to before. This was the week after I finished my training at a special needs school.I asked him if there was anything he wanted to discuss with me, and he said that he hadn't seen him for a while, so he was concerned about it.Even if I didn't have anything special to do, whenever I saw me working as an academic support tutor, I was reassured that I would be able to help if I had any trouble. This is an episode that made me very happy to know that people think of me that way.
The Amagasaki Campus Academic Support Office underwent a makeover in May!There is a red sofa set inside. It's a quiet environment and perfect for studying. The notice board on the wall of the study space that says, ``Actually, I am an academic support tutor...'' is very interesting, so please come and take a look.We aim to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel free to come to the Academic Support Office!
In addition, one of the center programs implemented by the Academic Support Office is preparation for teacher employment exams.I also received a lot of help.Even if studying alone would have been difficult, you can learn in a positive way by having your teacher teach you in an interesting way and learning with your friends. If you are a 1st or 2nd year student who thinks you have a long way to go to prepare for the teacher recruitment exam, please take this test. You may be nervous at first, but I'm sure your teachers and seniors will welcome you and compliment you on how great you are.In such a warm atmosphere, we all work together to achieve success.

During the spring semester, the Department of Psychology held a report support session for statistics and research methods. In the Department of Psychology, especially from second year students, students often use statistical software called SPSS to analyze data and write reports based on the results. For this reason, we held support meetings and provided support as the number of difficult issues increased.I received comments from those who actually participated, such as, ``It was helpful because I couldn't complete the assignments on my own,'' which made me feel glad that I implemented the program.
I'm the type of person who can't get motivated until the deadline for an assignment approaches, so I often find myself wondering if it's okay if I don't do it today. That's why I try to start working on assignments as soon as they are assigned, and especially if they are assigned weekly, I try to submit them the same day they are assigned. As the deadline for your assignment approaches, even if you try to ask questions to your teachers and senior tutors, it may become crowded and you may not be able to ask questions, so in order to submit an assignment that you are satisfied with, it is best to make a plan and start early. I am conscious of this.
Before you worry about it on your own, please feel free to come to the Academic Support Office. You can consult not only about your studies, but also about things you don't understand or worry about, such as course registration and university life in general. We look forward to your visit!
