The Department of Tourism's service learning program is collaborating with the Ujigawa Commercial Cooperative Association and Youth Division in the Hanakuma area to plan a music event called ``Afternoon Food Music'' on Hanakuma Modern Street.
There is a temple with an unusual appearance on the west side of Hankyu Hanakuma Station.Kobe Betsuin of Honganji Temple is famous as a local landmark known only to those in the know, commonly known as ``Modern Temple.''If you go straight west from there, you will come to an intersection where Satsuma Pharmacy, which boasts a 100-year history, and Joy Ale Ujigawa, which has its origins in the Ujigawa Public Market, was founded in 9.The road that leads there is ``Hanakuma Modern Street,'' which will be the stage for this music event.
This street is home to unique Western food restaurants and yakiniku restaurants with long lines, English cafes that are particular about tea leaves and tea sets, Italian restaurants that serve wood-fired pizzas, and liquor stores that serve carefully selected alcohol and wine. There are many attractive shops lined up.This music event is a project in which we ask for the cooperation of these stores and have a small ensemble performed by our university's brass band inside the store.
Service learning students began meeting with local coordinators before summer to prepare for this project. We aim to create a lively atmosphere on Hanakuma Modern Street by combining fun live music with delicious food.
Would you like to enjoy a little music on the street corner while enjoying tea, pizza, wine, etc.?
