Welfare studies major2The first grade students are divided into groups to watch over the elderly, support groups for child-rearing, and support groups for people with disabilities. This time, I would like to report on the activities of the elderly monitoring activity group (Takeya district).

Since September, I have been going to Fureai Hiroba, a salon for the elderly in the Takeya district, about twice a month to interact with the elderly.

Blood pressure measurement

First of all, in order to maintain the health of the elderly people who visit us, we help each person measure their blood pressure.

It is important to communicate while measuring blood pressure.

During gymnastics, I stand in front of everyone and do the exercises together. There was quite a lot of exercise, but all the participants were full of energy. At first, the students were exhausted, but as the sessions went on, they gradually got on board!

I also participate in the tea party after gymnastics. Through simple everyday conversations, we hear about the feelings and troubles of elderly people.

Everyone is very friendly and I learn a lot every time.
