Kick-off meeting regarding the establishment of the Asian Citizens' Disaster Reduction Promotion Council (ACDRI)

In 2014, our university was established in Southeast Asia.6Interuniversity Collaboration Consortium with Universities from Countries (ACP), which has been developing disaster prevention education programs for students. Newly established this timeACDRIis offering this educational program to research institutes, civil society organizations, andNGOThe aim is to expand the program to foster disaster prevention leaders in communities in each country, in cooperation with other organizations. The kick-off meeting began with President Atsushi Hamana's greetings and Mr. Ken Fujioka reading a message from Kobe Mayor Kizo Kumoto on behalf of the president.ACDRIA charter of establishment was signed by the members.

The final session was held at an Asian cafe, where participants from each country drank tea they had brought with them, exchanged opinions in a peaceful atmosphere, and deepened interactions between those involved.
Kansai International University will continue to cooperate with research institutes and local communities in various countries to popularize the dual system of training and recognition for citizens who are responsible for disaster prevention, and to promote efforts to realize a safe and secure society.
